Last remnant of the changing room from the old Fleishhacker Pool, now the SF Zoo parking lot.
Local landmark at 3rd & Market. A lot of history here. This spot became the center of downtown in its day, known as "newspaper angle" -- the opposite corners boasted "The Chronicle" and "The Call."
The first motel in San Francisco -- 46th Avenue & Wawona, near the zoo. It opened in 1937, just a few weeks before the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge. A second-generation family-run business, and beloved on Yelp for its Streamline Moderne Art Deco vibe.
