Last week in San Francisco...

Gratitude? Sarcasm? Irony? A billion dollars of annual support leaves thousands in tents on San Francisco streets...

The Giuseppe Verdi Monument in Golden Gate Park near the parking lot behind the bandshell. If you wander close it's hard to miss due to the regilding they did in recent years. The monument features Giuseppe Verdi, famous Italian opera composer. It was dedicated in 1914 with an opera concert performed by singer Luisa Tetrazzini and attended by 20,000.

The #25 looks like it got a new paint job. @ the Powell Street turnaround.

My best guess is this is an art installation. But what kid could resist climbing on it? And if they fall that asphalt is pretty unforgiving. (Closed section of JFK Blvd in Golden Gate Park, under the overpass at Crossover Drive.)

At the Stow Lake boathouse in Golden Gate Park. I liked what the umbrella added to the image.

Notice what's missing? The enormous "ferris wheel" that's been on the north end of the concourse was moved to Fisherman's Wharf. A much better venue for it!
