El Capitan Theater on 20th & Mission. It opened in the late 1920's as a large 3,100-seat theater. Downtown quality shows with neighborhood prices. Today's it's a drive-thru parking lot. You can't blame the techies for this one. The theater's auditorium was gutted in the mid- 1960's, and it's been a parking lot ever since. A great Then&Now article on historic Mission District theater's can be found here: https://hoodline.com/2017/02/5-classic-movie-palaces-of-the-mission-district
