The Exhibit You Were Never Supposed To See.

Before there's a painting there are sketches. The curator spun this as an "intimate" conversation with iconic Renaissance painter Botticelli, a chance to see the creative thoughts behind his masterpieces.

Botticelli is considered in the same league as Michelangelo and DeVinci. Yet by the end of his life the art world had moved on, and he died in near poverty. His own family refused his legacy of sketches, paintings and workshop. They didn't want to incur his debts as well.

I liked this detail of the circle of angels floating in the heavens above the manger. It looked like a group of synchronized swimmers suspended in the sky.
