Today I walked down to the 4Star Theater to catch an SF History lecture. Its subject was the 250 surplus horse-drawn streetcars in the late 1800s that became a thriving bohemian community in the windswept dunes of the Outer Sunset. The community was called, "Carville By The Sea." This was also my first visit to the historic 4Star Theater since its rebirth. Photos below. Archival photos of Carville can be found at https://opensfhistory.org/search/index.php?q=carville&_ds=1&bn=0&bs=50&so0=contains&so1=contains

The smaller of the two screens has been converted to a space for Tunnel Records, featuring vintage vinyl and posters.
